As a Companion you will combine the traditional role of personal carer with organising lifestyle activities for residents. You will report directly to the Registered Nurse on Duty and indirectly to the Director of Care. A key focus is understanding resident preferences and integrating these into how care is delivered. Companions document progress notes and charts etc using handheld devices and are responsible for working alongside our residents to create a truly person-centred experience. You will hold a minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support and work in the job towards being Medication Competent.In this role, you will be responsible for:Providing day to day personal care for our residents according to their individual care planAssist in the development and implementation of lifestyle programs and leisure activities for residents, in conjunction with the Lifestyle CoordinatorCreate a home-like environment where residents feel safe to make choices in how they live.Know the life stories and preferences of each resident and use this information to deliver person-centred care.Document service delivery outcomes in progress notes, charts and so on using The Shorelines hand-held devices and technology.Document resident feedback including compliments, comments and complaints and escalate these to management for timely responsesInteract with residents in a kind, caring and respectful manner.About Us:The Shoreline is a luxury aged care facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW. The precinct boasts a fresh, resort-like atmosphere and a focus on high quality care of our aged residents and building a community in the superb beach side location where we live and work. In operation for under a year, The Shoreline is retirement living and premium residential aged care all packaged in to one breathtaking coastal site. The care facility is located within the village of luxury units and villas and is a stones throw away from a major shopping centre, beautiful beaches, and restaurants. We are a breath of fresh air in the region, bringing the most modern-day practices to the forefront of our residents ageing experience.About You:As someone with a proven track record of compassion, you will demonstrate kindness and empathy with the elderly and other diverse individuals. You will possess an intuitive responsiveness to aged care residents'' individual wants and needs, whilst maintaining calm, composed and optimistic when faced with stressful or high pressure situations.
