We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate.We are currently seeking an experienced Farm Manager to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic planning and hands-on management of the farms operations to ensure the effective use of resources, timely completion of tasks and high standards of productivity. This role involves coordinating day-to-day activities, overseeing staff, maintaining property and equipment and ensuring the health and welfare of livestock. The Farm Manager plays a critical role in supporting operational goals and promoting a culture of safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in training and mentoring junior staffUse basic computer skills to operate farm management tools (e.g. AgriWebb, MEX-App) and support daily operationsInterpret nutritionist feed sheets and apply to TMR (Total Mixed Ration) calculationsOperate and maintain modern machinery (mixer wagons, side by sides, front-end loader tractors, JCB loaders)Oversee beef cattle breeding programsFeed livestock and monitor animal health and welfareDevelop and implement beef cattle feeding plans and identify beef cattle health and nutrition problemsHands-on knowledge of sheep management (excluding breeding), with responsibility for weekly coordination of sheep/lamb movementsPractice and promote low-stress stock handling techniquesOversee the repair and upkeep of fencing and water systemsEstablish and maintain pastures and fodder crops for beef cattle production and identify plant health and nutrition problemsMaintain and improve farm infrastructureContribute to budgeting and financial planningImplement biosecurity management measuresManage pasture health and rotational grazing practicesEnsure adherence to workplace safety and animal welfare standardsSKILLS & EXPERIENCES:Proven experience working with beef cattle and sheep across various production stagesExperience in cell grazing preferredCompetency in operating and maintaining modern farm machineryStrong understanding of animal welfare and low-stress stock handlingExcellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environmentProblem-solving skills and the ability to work independentlyPrior experience in infrastructure maintenance and pasture managementCurrent drivers license (machinery tickets or certifications a bonus)WHY JOIN US?Competitive remuneration package with employee benefits such as discounts on banking, travel insurance, health & fitness, home appliances, local retailers and moreOpportunity for career progression within our global organisationSafe and supportive work environment by providing an Employee Assistance ProgramOn site canteen, free parking, staff discounts, monthly staff BBQs and annual flu vaccination programThe Midfield Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
