This role leads the centralized procurement function that strategically sources and manages pharmaceutical, retail, and professional service products while leveraging collective buying power to optimize costs, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure optimal inventory availability aligned with customer demand and store profiles.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & PlanningDevelop and implement enterprise-wide procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and growth plansBuild and lead a centralized procurement capability across all pharmacy locationsEstablish procurement governance frameworks, policies, and proceduresCollaborate with executive leadership on strategic sourcing initiatives and cost optimization opportunitiesStrategic Sourcing & NegotiationNegotiate and secure optimal wholesale pricing across all pharmaceutical and retail product categoriesLeverage combined buying power to maximize discounts and secure favorable termsEstablish preferred supplier arrangements and volume-based pricing structuresConduct regular market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and emerging trendsDevelop and implement retail pricing strategies across all product categoriesSet competitive yet profitable price points based on comprehensive market analysisManage promotional pricing and special offers with consistent implementationEnsure pricing compliance with PBS requirements and industry regulationsBuild and maintain strategic relationships with key pharmaceutical and retail suppliersManage ongoing communication with sales representatives and supplier stakeholdersDevelop supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviewsResolve supplier issues promptly to ensure continuous product availabilityInventory & Product Range OptimizationEnsure stores maintain optimal stock levels using just-in-time inventory principlesDevelop store-specific stocking strategies based on sales patterns and customer demographicsImplement inventory controls to minimize waste from expired productsAlign product selection with customer demand and individual store profilesIdentify and introduce new products with high sales potentialOversee and optimize POS and Buy It Right procurement systemsEnsure data integrity across all procurement platformsDrive process improvements through technology adoptionTrain staff on proper utilization of procurement technologyManage procurement budgets and ensure adherence to financial targetsOptimize working capital through strategic procurement practicesContribute to overall group profitability through cost-effective sourcingDevelop and monitor financial KPIs for procurement activitiesEducation & Professional QualificationsRelevant business disciplineIT DegreeCurrent pharmacist registration (highly preferred)Professional procurement or supply chain management qualifications (desirable)ExperienceMinimum 5 years procurement or supply chain management experienceProven track record in pharmaceutical or healthcare retail procurementExperience in building and leading centralized procurement functionsDemonstrated success in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiationLeadership experience managing cross-functional teamsCore CompetenciesDeep understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains and regulatory requirementsStrong analytical and financial modelling skillsExcellent negotiation and relationship management abilitiesProficiency in procurement technologies and ERP systemsProject management and change management capabilitiesUnlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchYour application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
