Were building a world where Identity belongs to you.About The RoleWe are seeking a dynamic Presales Architect to join our team of identity security experts. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and business acumen to drive customer success, helping organizations modernize and secure their identity ecosystems. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with enterprise customers, channel partners, and internal teams to deliver innovative identity and access management (IAM) solutions that align with business goals.This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, technical depth, and exceptional communication skills to translate complex identity challenges into solutions that address customer needs. Youll play a pivotal role in accelerating sales cycles, enabling technical wins, and shaping the future of identity in your region.The OpportunityReporting into the APJ Office of the Field CTO, this role will be challenged daily to show prospects and customers how Okta can help solve their business challenges. We are searching for individuals that have experience deploying identity and access management solutions in large and complex environments. This hands-on experience and exposure to the operational aspect of real customer deployments is what sets you apart and provides credibility to the architectures you design and propose. Your proven experience with other products and legacy solutions will be invaluable when assessing a customers existing challenges and planning the roadmap for them to modernize and transition to the Okta platform.What Youll Be DoingCustomer Engagement & Solution DesignCollaborate with customers to understand their business objectives, technical challenges, and security needs.Design and present tailored identity and access management (IAM) solutions using Oktas suite of products, including SSO, Adaptive MFA, Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management (PAM) & Customer Identity.Articulate the value of zero-trust architectures and advanced security models in mitigating identity-based threats.Lead workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and technical deep dives with enterprise stakeholders.Technical Expertise & EnablementDeliver live architecture workshops, drive proofs of concept (POCs) as part of a team, and pilot deployments to showcase Oktas capabilities.Stay up-to-date on emerging threats, compliance regulations, and industry trends to guide customers in future-proofing their identity strategies.Business Alignment & Thought LeadershipAlign identity solutions with customers business priorities, focusing on efficiency, security maturity, and ROI.Address regional compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, APRA) and navigate micro/macro-economic factors affecting IT budgets and workforce needs.Represent the company as a technical leader at customer meetings, industry events, and webinars.Create and deliver a region-specific, identity-centric security narrative that incorporates industry trends, regulatory considerations, and the evolving threat landscape, while addressing macro/microeconomic headwinds and tailwinds impacting key industries.Collaboration & Stakeholder AlignmentPartner with account teams(AEs + SEs) to define account strategies and drive customer success.Act as a conduit between customers and product teams, ensuring feedback informs the product roadmap.Collaborate with professional services and customer success teams for seamless solution delivery.Engage with Partners to support co-sell motions, ensure alignment on solution positioning, and provide technical enablement during pre-deal registration and opportunity qualification.Provide guidance at Deal Stage 0/1, assisting Partners and Solution Engineers (SEs) in understanding customer needs, recommending architectural approaches, and aligning solutions with best practices.Act as an overlay support resource for complex opportunities, helping SEs craft tailored strategies that address unique customer challenges while accelerating deal velocity.What Youll Bring To The RoleTechnical SkillsA passion to serve the customer, which has played out in some customer-facing role like consulting or supportProficiency in identity protocols (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML, SCIM, LDAP) and zero-trust principles.An understanding of core security concerns within a typical application (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)Hands-on experience with APIs, SDKs (eg. (Javascript, HTML, frontend frameworks) development, mobile (iOS, Android) development, backend (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby)), and developer tooling for identity integrations.Business & Strategic SkillsAbility to align technical solutions with business outcomes and articulate ROI to stakeholders.Familiarity with regional compliance and regulatory frameworks, tailoring solutions to meet specific requirements.Awareness of threat landscapes and emerging risks, including AI-driven attacks, insider threats, and privilege misuse.Soft SkillsStrong presentation skills leveraging multiple mediums like whiteboarding, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences.Exceptional collaboration skills to work across customers, partners, and internal teams.A problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and priorities.Confidence dispensing knowledge to a highly skilled and experienced audience.Preferred Experience8+ years in presales, solution architecture, or a related field within the identity security space.At least 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Solution Architect, designing and delivering complex identity and access management(IAM) solutions in enterprise environments.Deep expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM) platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, or similar solutions.Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices, including identity integration within agile pipelines.Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Okta Certified Consultant, or equivalent are a plus.Experience tailoring IAM strategies to specific industries or addressing international workforce challenges.What you can look forward to as a Full-Time Okta employee!Amazing BenefitsMaking Social ImpactDeveloping Talent and Fostering Connection + Community at OktaOkta cultivates a dynamic work environment, providing the best tools, technology and benefits to empower our employees to work productively in a setting that best and uniquely suits their needs.
