OverviewGroundwater Modelling Virtual Team Leader at SLR Consulting. This role leads our national Groundwater Modelling team (virtual team of 11 across Brisbane, Melbourne and Wollongong) and collaborates with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to deliver solutions for clients. The role works with the Technical Discipline Manager (TDM) and Hydrogeology Technical Directors to implement the business plan aligned with our global priorities.ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the national Groundwater Modelling team as a virtual team across multiple offices.Collaborate with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to deliver client solutions.Work with the Technical Discipline Manager and Hydrogeology Technical Directors to implement the business plan focused on expanding and enhancing core services, investing in emerging areas, and validating future opportunities.Contribute to a strong backlog and pipeline of work through technical excellence, practical solutions and strong client relationships.Engage with other SLR teams and sectors to deliver multidisciplinary projects where needed.Our Team and EnvironmentOur APAC Hydrology and Hydrogeology team is one of the largest in SLR Australia, enabling growth and expansion of core business. The role is flexible to fit the right candidate within our large team and autonomy to grow the business.To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need720+ years of industry experience as a hydrogeologist, including consultancy experienceAn appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualificationStrong technical background in numerical modelling, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessment and hydrogeological investigationUnderstanding of Australian groundwater legislation and guidelines related to resource development and infrastructure projects; working knowledge of state groundwater legislation, policies, standards and guidelines is highly regardedStrong commitment to Health and SafetyDemonstrated experience managing and delivering large technical projects, particularly complex groundwater modelling projectsExcellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and ability to work effectively within a teamExcellent communication and technical report writing skillsExperience mentoring junior staff in preparing quality reports on time and within budgetExperience collaborating with related technical staff to deliver project solutionsAbility to identify and convert opportunities and leverage client relationships for business developmentProven track record in building, nurturing and maintaining ongoing client relationshipsExperience or understanding of the broader water market (surface water resources highly regarded)Australian citizenship or rights to work in AustraliaOur BenefitsWe offer a unique culture that supports collaboration on projects to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
