Staff Specialist (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) - Permanent 1.0FTE (HOD position - Remainder of Quinquennium) Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals - Apply via eCredential NSW Health Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia Overview Permanent full-time position for a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, with temporary appointment as Obstetrics Head of Department for the remainder of the Quinquennium. Location: Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). What You''ll Be Doing Review and monitor women attending obstetric outpatient services who receive a consistent woman centered quality service across Antenatal clinics, Feto-Maternal Assessment Unit & Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. Provide clinical governance & obstetric leadership for Birthing unit policy and procedure development Active surveillance of obstetric KPIs including maternal & perinatal morbidity and mortality Review and monitor postpartum care of women in the hospital and via the midwifery-support program at home following early discharge Develop and expand models of care to meet the needs of women, including continuity of care high risk and low-risk midwifery models, as well as GPSC Focus on improving obstetric outcomes for vulnerable women including Aboriginal, CALD, migrant and refugee groups, and women with identified psycho-social vulnerabilities. Demonstrate ongoing commitment to improving obstetric indicators ACHS, WHA, HACs. Where You''ll Be Working Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region. Campbelltown Hospital offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services, plus specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital specializes in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care. The two hospitals collaborate to deliver safe, high-quality, compassionate care, with ongoing redevelopment to enhance capabilities. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
