OverviewJoin to apply for the Vehicle Mechanic - Defence role at Ventia. Ventia is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to join the Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Puckapunyal, north of Melbourne.As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and armoured tanks.ResponsibilitiesConduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classificationRepair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentialsReassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced partsCarry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairsTest and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injectionInspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificatesQualificationsCert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent levelOpen to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experienceDemonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehiclesMust possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver''s LicenceYou must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security ClearanceBenefits$50.79 an hour plus superWork 38 hours per week Monday to Friday and finish at 12 pm on FridaysTraining & Upskilling providedRelocation assistance for the right candidateWork on unique Defence vehicle and assets17.5% Annual Leave LoadingAll tools, PPE and Uniforms providedOn-site ParkingAdditional InformationDiversity:Ventia is enriched by the diverse experiences, talents and cultures that our people bring to the organisation.
