OverviewAs the Operations Manager, you will ensure site operations at our Burnie Chip Mill run smoothly and efficiently to meet operational objectives. Reporting to the Regional Manager - Tasmania, you will be responsible for the management of the site team, production and maintenance schedules. In addition, you will be overseeing supply chains and ensuring a proactive safety culture on a daily basis.ResponsibilitiesCo-ordinating and driving the day-to-day operational performance of our production shifts. Working to meet targets for production, efficiency and quality whilst working within allocated budgets.Develop production schedules and ensuring the site meet production and recovery targets as well as meeting expectations on safety and quality.Overseeing maintenance activities and assisting with the prioritisation of maintenance tasks as well as preventative maintenance planning to enable maximum production levels to be sustained.Ensure quality checks and audits are in place across the site. As well as actively monitoring results and rectifying any issues where required.Managing the performance and development of shift personnel and ensuring effective co-ordination between shifts and other sections of the site.Demonstrating leadership capability by applying effective engagement and communication strategies, recognising good performance and holding employees accountable for under-performance.Drive a positive safety culture by ensuring well established systems and procedures which are regularly monitored and communicated.Identifying HSE issues and hazards, resolving problems and implementing corrective actions.About YouThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following:A substantial track record of leadership experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
