OverviewInformation Governance Specialist needed to join a high impact team as part of a business uplift initiative to improve data quality, business processes and reporting across a large, complex organisation. This role sits in a newly established directorate and involves working closely with business areas to embed information governance practices.What you will doWork closely with business areas, as part of an embedded team, to understand the data and information the business area is responsible forEvaluate the current information and governance practicesCollaborate with the business to agree on the highest priority improvementsHelp the business identify Information Asset Owners and understand their roles and responsibilitiesWork with stakeholders to capture, improve and maintain quality metadataDevelop and iterate information governance resources, tools and templatesAdvise business areas on how to improve their records management and knowledge management practicesWhat youll bring to the roleComfortable operating in a maturing and evolving environment and able to navigate change and complexityStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain governance concepts clearly to business audiences; initiative, collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvementAdaptable and confident navigating ambiguity, able to build productive relationships across a wide range of teamsSubstantial experience (5+ years) in similar roles, ideally within the Queensland GovernmentTechnical expertise aligned with information governance functions and a strong understanding of good practice and emerging industry trendsStrong communication skills, including the ability to express complex ideas in plain English and prepare clear, persuasive documentationFormal qualifications in information management, data governance, or a related field (desirable)Training or certification in records management, data governance, or information compliance (desirable)Experience with Agile methodologies (desirable)How to applyPlease submit your resume for consideration via the appropriate link.
