OverviewChildcare Centre Cook - Brand New ServiceAre you passionate about providing exciting, nutritionally balanced meals to children? We are a fun, innovative privately owned Brand New 100-place Centre. Our Shoalwater Centre is looking for a passionate Food Coordinator to support healthy meals for children at Discovery at Play Early Learning Centre.The position requires a motivated worker with a background in nutrition and a passion for working with children, families and the community. Staff discounts on childcare are available.The ideal candidateWill provide and prepare a variety of well-balanced nutritional meals.Ensure a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment.Follow Get Up and Grow and Australian dietary requirements.Food Safety Training.Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.Current WWCC.Be an active team member of the service.Responsibilities and DutiesPlan a weekly menu, rotating the menu seasonally to suit.Provide a diet for the children with reduced sugar, no added salt, low fat, high fibre, and free from artificial colours and preservatives.Ensure any special diets are adequately catered for (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, dairy intolerance); an alternative must be prepared.Make a shopping list from the weekly menu.Rotate stock each week.Follow the menu and update menu notices around the centre if changes are made.Complete all required paperwork in the centre Food Safety Program.Support healthy eating habits educationally through veggie patches and/or herb gardens.Spend mealtimes with children in each room, encouraging and discussing their healthy meals daily.Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the food preparation area.Maintain personal health to avoid illness and cross-contamination.Interact positively with children, staff, and visitors.Qualifications and RequirementsCurrent Food Safety Training.Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).Note: To help ensure a safe and healthy service, please provide any additional relevant details as part of your application. #J-18808-Ljbffr
