OverviewRaging Waters Sydney is the biggest and wildest waterpark in Sydney home to over 40 slides and attractions. We are currently looking for a Facilities Handyman.The Facilities Handyman plays a vital role in the upkeep and presentation of park infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on basic building and infrastructure repairs, including concrete patching, timber fixes, surface painting, and support for broader maintenance activities. The role also supports trades staff and contractors during larger projects and contributes to the overall cleanliness and presentation of the park. The ideal candidate is semi-skilled with practical experience in a similar role, capable of working independently, and demonstrates initiative in identifying and resolving maintenance issues.ResponsibilitiesPerform general handyman tasks across the park including:Patching and repairing concrete paths, walls, stairs, and foundationsPainting of surfaces across guest, staff, and operations areasRepair of timber fixtures including fences, railings, benches, and shade structuresMinor repair of gates, signs, cladding, and external building featuresFixing loose or damaged components in guest and staff areasCarry out routine inspections and respond promptly to maintenance issuesIdentify and report faults or hazards to the Facilities Team LeaderUndertake assigned corrective and preventive maintenance tasksAssist with general carpentry, paving, minor brickwork, and park infrastructure touch-upsMaintain accurate records and logs of completed works and inspectionsSupport For Projects And TradesAssist with the setup and execution of small projects across the parkSupport contractors and tradespeople with labour and preparation tasksMove tools, supplies, and materials around the site as requiredMaintain work areas in a clean and safe conditionOther Duties And FlexibilityProvide cross-department support as needed, including cleaning support during events or peak periodsGeneral landscaping (e.g., raking, minor pruning, grounds tidying)Setup and pack down of temporary structures or signagePerform other duties as directed by the Facilities Team Leader or Director of FacilitiesBe flexible and responsive to evolving park needs and prioritiesWorkplace Health & Safety (WHS)Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies, procedures, and guidelinesUse all safety and personal protective equipment correctlyDemonstrate safe work behaviours and lead by exampleReport any WHS incidents, injuries, or near misses to your Manager and First Aid immediatelyActively promote hazard and near-miss reportingAttend Work Group Meetings to discuss safety topics and contribute to improvementsRequirementsEducation: Essential No formal qualifications required; practical experience essentialDesirable: Manual Handling TrainingWhite cardConfined space trainingWorking at Heights trainingManual Drivers LicenceForklift licenceLanguages: Fluent EnglishSkills:Practical experience in handyman, facility, or building maintenance rolesProficiency with hand tools and power toolsBasic repair skills across painting, timber, concrete, and fixturesAbility to follow job sheets and maintenance schedulesStrong initiative and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProfessional attitude and commitment to safety standardsExperience:Experience in outdoor or site-based maintenance rolesComfortable working in all weather conditionsExperience in theme parks, large facilities, resorts or commercial venues advantageousDetailsSeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: TemporaryJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: Entertainment ProvidersBenefitsFree admission to Raging Waters SydneyTicket Incentive Program to share with family and friendsFood and Retail discountsRecognition programAdditional InformationThere are three requirements to be a team member at Raging Waters Sydney: Right to Work in Australia, Working with Children Check and National Crime Check. Raging Waters Sydney raged 20 years or older are paid at a Grade 4 hourly rate of $28.12 per hour plus 25% casual loading ($35.15 per hour includes casual loading). Different rates apply for applicants 19 years of age and under.
