If so, we wantYOU to be part of our world-class marhaba Lounge team as a Cook/Chef, proudly operated by dnata Airport Services at Melbourne Airport!Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparing and cooking of meals/food at the loungeSet up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipmentPrepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)Cook food in various utensils or grillersCheck food while cooking to stir or turnEnsure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are servedKeep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchenEnsure all food and other items are stored properlyCheck quality of ingredientsMonitor stock and place orders when there are shortagesEssential CriteriaEntry level with 1+ year experience as a cook/chefExperience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakewareKnowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)Appropriate qualification/certificates an advantageShifts can start at 03:00, and finish at 0:30 over 7 days per weekFlexible and willing attitude, strong written communication and customer service skillsImmaculate grooming and pride in presentationA working understanding of food safety standards, Current RSA Certificate is a mustYou will require a security check to be able to successfully receive an ASIC Pass as a condition of successful employmentMust be an Australian Resident/CitizenBenefitsAward Rate Salary.Opportunities for career development and advancement.Comprehensive training and induction program.Access to staff discounts.Please note - To be considered for this position applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
