Overview Newlands Closure has a site-based opportunity for an experienced hands-on Commercial Manager to join the team in progressing Australias largest coal rehabilitation project. The site is transitioning from an Open Cut Mine to a rehabilitation and closure phase with the goal of converting mined areas to cattle pastures by 2029 and achieving relinquishment. Glencore assets in Queensland are moving toward closure over the next 20 years, offering opportunities in mine rehabilitation and closure. Responsibilities Financial control and compliance, management and financial reporting, capital and project work justification and approval. Preparation of site budgets and forecasts, supporting the operation with cost models, scenario planning and cost control systems. Key user and knowledge expert of financial planning and budgeting software, Xeras. Change management with supporting financial analysis. Site contract management, supply, purchasing, and IT functions under your control. Qualifications Experience in a similar role within the resources or heavy industry sector (5-10 years). Qualifications in accounting/business or commerce disciplines. CA/CPA qualifications are preferred. Strong compliance, accounting, SAP, and Xeras competence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
