The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, and execution of major mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with Australian and international standards. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on design expertise, and experience with engineering software and systems such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP.ResponsibilitiesLead the mechanical engineering design, planning, and execution of major projects and capital projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsManage contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely, on time, and within budgetProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teamsDevelop detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant softwareEnsure all mechanical designs and activities comply with Australian standards (AS/NZS) and other relevant codesUtilize SAP systems for project tracking, asset management, and procurement processesCoordinate and conduct technical reviews, quality assurance, and risk assessmentsLiaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and deliverablesPrepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and drawingsStay abreast of industry advancements and implement best practices to drive continuous improvementQualificationsBachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related disciplineOver 10 years proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in planning and executing major projectsExtensive experience managing contractors and project teamsProficient in mechanical design software including AutoCAD and SolidWorksWell-versed in Australian standards and other international standards relevant to mechanical engineeringExperience using SAP for engineering and project management functionsStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsChartered Engineer status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia is highly preferredPersonal AttributesProactive and self-driven with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and investigative skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlinesCommitted to safety, quality, and delivering outcomes that exceed expectationsCollaborative and able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teamsBenefitsGenerous parental leave: 20 weeks paid Primary Carer Leave and 3 weeks paid Partner Leave for those who have worked at the business for at least 12 months.
