Keep CGH Shining Environmental Services Assistant Opportunities About Central Gippsland Health Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps. CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub-acute services including rehabilitation. CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond. We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments. CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs. Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing. CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University''s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students. CGH encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to consider application to this position About Department The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing many and varied services to all areas of Central Gippsland Health Service. Services include: Portering services, linen collection and delivery, patient/specimen/histories transfers All aspects of housekeeping / cleaning Ensuring that the CGHS campuses meet the Victorian Government''s hospital cleaning standards Effective waste management of both clinical and general waste and carrying out waste audits Supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff About the Role You will: Undertake the provision of a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors to CGH Undertake tasks to reliably and safely maintain high standards in quality of care and service throughout CGH facilities Practice, observe, and comply with all applicable standards, regulations and organisation policies Duties Undertake cleaning of various areas in CGH facilities and equipment & instruments in the health service as nominated by the Environmental Services Team Leader Ensure all chemicals utilised when providing environmental services are used in appropriate dilution rates and for their intended use Undertake all tasks in accordance with infection control standards, cleaning standards and schedules, and organisational regulations, policies and procedures Qualifications, Skills and Experience Minimum Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or other relevant qualification and/or preparedness to undertake appropriate training Previous work in a similar job role Salary packaging Employee Assistance Program Social Club Application Please attach your resume and cover letter to your application All appointments are made subject to a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.
