OverviewBe responsible for supporting new and existing Motor products, identifying improvement opportunities, and assisting with product and underwriting changes. The Motor Product Analyst role reports to the Motor Product Manager and is responsible for supporting the identification, design, development and implementation of new and innovative Motor products, options and benefits.ResponsibilitiesProvide support in the monitoring and analysis of Australian and overseas insurance markets and trendsAssist in the identification of opportunities for profitable growth in the Australian Motor insurance marketAssist in the identification of recommendations for improvements to existing products and development of new products and/or options to enhance the value proposition for customers, selling Partners and more generally A&G as a wholeSupport in the design and development of approved new and innovative Motor products, options and benefits, as well as enhancements to the existing product suiteProvide support in the monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects and the performance of new products, including taking corrective actions where necessary and assisting with post-implementation reviewsAssist with the setup, launch and online management of White Label Partner productsImplement process improvement and/or system enhancementPerform user acceptance testingMonitor and interpret insurance portfolio dataCompile reports and analyse trends in the Motor insurance portfolio and support continuous improvements in data quality and presentation of resultsCompetitor research and analysisEngage stakeholders to drive measurable commercial outcomes for the businessQualifications and ExperienceEssential2+ years General Insurance (short tail) product/ portfolio management, underwriting and/or claim experience; exposure to product development and portfolio management specific to the Domestic Motor insurance space would be highly regardedSound knowledge/ understanding of short-tail insurance product(s), underwriting and rating methods, systems and procedures including drivers and levers of profitable growthKnowledge of relevant regulatory regimes, compliance and insurance legislationExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalGood problem-solving abilitySound numerical and analytical skillsAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisationAttention to detail and accuracyA can do, team-focused attitudeAbility to work autonomously while maintaining focusExperience in managing and completing user acceptance testingIT literacy and the ability to learn new systemsWorking knowledge of common application software, e.g. MS Office suite; experience with SQL/ SAS would be a bonusAbility to respond rapidly and positively to change and to work under pressure to deliver outcomes with competing prioritiesDesirableTertiary qualificationLocationToowong, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
