Roles available in Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin.The Policy, Markets and Insight Division supports the NDIS Commission''s delivery of legislative functions through strategic policy development and advice focused on the regulatory framework, the provider market and workforce quality; data and analysis activities and other major projects and initiatives. This includes innovative and strategic thinking, data analysis and evidence reviews to solve complex policy issues that uphold the rights of people with disability through regulation of the NDIS market and to enable the provision of safe and quality supports. The Division supports the NDIS Commissioner with inquiries and reviews, delivery of NDIS workforce initiatives and administration of the NDIS support for providers grants program.The Policy, Markets and Insight Division consists of the following:Regulatory FrameworkParticipant RightsProvider MarketWorkforce QualityData and InsightsData and InsightsThe Data and Insights Team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality analytics that underpin data-driven decision-making and enables the Commission to ensure people with disability receive quality and safe supports and services under the NDIS. The team is accountable for data management and modelling, providing business intelligence to operational units, reporting on key metrics and trends and developing models to facilitate safeguarding. The team also provides regular, reliable and accurate data to senior leadership.Senior Data Analyst - Data ManagementIdentify opportunities to optimise data management processes, including uplift of data quality, improve governance and enhance data for business consumptionDevelopment of data dictionaries, data mapping and business logic documentation to help both technical and business users understand the sources and meaning of dataAssist with the establishment of data management standards which promote consistency and reliability of data practicesExecute quality assurance testing across datasets prepared for reporting/analytical consumptionAct as a domain expert of various datasets, collaborating with technical specialists and business stakeholders to educate others and enhance trust and adoption of data productsSkills, knowledge, and experience:Our ideal candidate will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and have the following capabilities:Highly curious and loves to investigate and solve data problemsStrong attention to detail and proven experience in quality assurance practicesDemonstrated proficiency with SQLGood understanding of data warehousing and ETL practicesEffective written and verbal communications skills, including reporting, presentation and translating technical concepts to business stakeholdersOur ideal candidate will also have:Lived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context would be an advantage.Experience with data visualisation tools (Qlik Sense would be a bonus)Qualifications in and/or equivalent experience in a discipline such as statistics, epidemiology, social science, psychology, information technology or data analytics.Note:The position locations are flexible and may be performed from any of the NDIS Commission locations in Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin.How to applySubmit a statement describing how your skills, knowledge, experience would make you the best person for the role.
