Bus Operator/Driver - Toowong/Sherwood/Willawong Join to apply for the Bus Operator/Driver - Toowong/Sherwood/Willawong role at Brisbane City Council. Overview As a Bus Operator/Driver, you will play an instrumental part in moving the people of Brisbane safely to their destination whilst providing exceptional customer service to your passengers. Once out on the road, this role is largely autonomous, with support from the Network Coordination Centre and your home-depot, where youll be among like-minded Public Transport Services staff. Work type Temporary Full Time (up to 2 years) with the opportunity for career progression and permanency. Salary and Benefits Traineeship: AUD $1,332 per week gross + superannuation. Remuneration stated is for full-time positions and effective from 08 October 2025. Penalties, overtime, and allowances are in addition to the above rate. Our Business Brisbane City Council operates one of the largest bus fleets in Australia and offers a variety of services to the public, including time-tabled bus services, tourist, school, special events and charter runs. Transport Operations delivers bus network services from seven depots (Carina, Garden City, Toowong, Sherwood, Willawong, Virginia and Eagle Farm), along with network coordination and maintenance work on our bus fleet. Responsibilities Move people around Brisbane safely to their destinations while providing excellent customer service. Operate buses autonomously on route while maintaining smooth journeys and friendly service. Collaborate with the Network Coordination Centre and home-depot teams.
