Ensuring safe and reliable operation of power distribution networks, switchgear, transformers, and associated protection systems. Working with Senior HV technicians and Workshop Electricians in both Newcastle and Orange to manufacture specialised high-quality electrical equipment to support construction, mining, and tunnelling projects across Australia.Duties May IncludeCarry out high voltage switching and installationCarry out terminations and jointingCarry out testing, commissioning, and fault-finding on transformers, switchgear, cables, and protection relaysPerform installation, maintenance, and repairs on high voltage electrical systemsPrepare technical reports, work permits, and test documentationSupport project teams during shutdowns, upgrades, and commissioning activitiesSupport factory acceptance testing (FAT) and quality inspections prior to dispatchDiagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimise downtimeTravel to projects and sites to carry out worksMaintain compliance with electrical safety standards, regulations, and company proceduresWork collaboratively with engineers, draftspeople, and production teams to meet project deadlinesAbout YouElectrically qualifiedCapacity to work independently and as a member of a work teamCurrent drivers licenseExperience in a similar role and industryCurrent HV Switching QualificationsAttention to detail and strong attention to quality assuranceAbility to use initiative and be self-motivatedAbility to work under pressureAbility to read and follow technical drawings and work instructionsStrong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and commitment to safetyIf you are a qualified High Voltage Electrician with drive to succeed and are aligned with the values of our group, wed like to speak with you.
