The successful candidate for this job will be a key member of the Global Process Technology organization.Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this position is to advance fundamental understanding and execution of the scale-up and alignment processes in support of Axaltas growth and lean initiatives. This position will also develop or improve coatings process technologies and formulations with a targeted focus on powder coatings and finished product scale-up, manufacturing support, and overall process improvement.Job ResponsibilitiesWork with self-managed teams to organize workflow including setting and meeting deadlines in adherence to core values including safe work practices.Identify, prioritize and implement technology upgrades that results in improved processes.Collaborate with product/coating formulators to scale up and align new or modified products.Advance fundamental understanding of powder coatings product and process technology (Mixing, Extrusion, Milling, Packaging, etc.).Participate in manufacturing cross-functional forums to support and/or troubleshoot plant processes and quality issues with personnel at all levels within the organization.Function as key point of contact on teams related to quality, management of change, etc.Propose, document and implement manufacturing standard best practices.Deliver cost-improvement opportunities across plant manufacturing technology aligned with strategic business/technology direction.MUST HAVE:Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with a Master of Science degree preferred.Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing or R&D lab environment.Keen understanding of polymer sciences and polymer structure/property relationships required.Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team environment.Proven technical leadership skills.Able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Effective written and oral communication.Knowledge of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis.Our Company:Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions.
