Having achieved initial scale and success, the organisation now requires comprehensive finance transformation to support its ambitious growth agenda.About The RoleWith a strong market position and committed capital, the business is positioned for significant scale-up and requires a Chief Financial Officer to foster strong team relationships and drive a forward-looking financial strategy, suited to the dynamic needs of a privately owned business. We are looking for a proactive, pragmatic, and hands-on individual who is willing to get into the detail, enjoys process and function optimisation, and champions continuous improvement.The incoming CFO will be a proven leader in all aspects of Finance & Accounting and, ideally has had previous oversight for the Information Technology function. A sound understanding of industrial manufacturing/engineering, import/export business encompassing inventory planning, foreign currency transactions and international freight would be highly advantageous.The successful candidate will actively contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making of the business and will be responsible for the management of all finance functions, including financial and management reporting, board reporting, Capex, AP & AR, Treasury and Funding, Tax & Legal Compliance, 3-way cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and ad-hoc M&A activities.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Finance & LeadershipOwn and manage the Groups P&L and cash flow to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to shape strategy, growth plans, and execution.Present budgets, forecasts, and financial insights to senior stakeholders and the Board.Align financial and operational goals through practical tools and dashboards.Support market expansion, and M&A recommendations through modelling, analysis, and due diligence.Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.Build and maintain integrated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).Ensure accurate, timely month-end and year-end reporting.Analyse revenue streams, delivery costs, and contracts to improve profitability and margins.Partner with HR and Delivery leaders to align workforce planning with financial objectives.Governance, Compliance & SystemsOversee compliance with tax, audit, and statutory obligations across all jurisdictions.Optimize finance systems and processes (ERP, invoicing, reporting) for efficiency and visibility.Lead finance governance and risk management practices.Team Leadership & Capability BuildingLead and mentor a Finance team based in Adelaide with future support for a growing national business.Foster a business partnering culture where Finance is a trusted advisor.Promote continuous improvement and create opportunities for professional growth.Required Qualifications & ExperienceCA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification.Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance leader in a privately owned industrial environment.15+ years of progressive finance experience with exposure to manufacturing, international operations and freight.Expertise in financial governance, internal controls, and cross-border tax/audit compliance.Demonstrated success in improving profitability, margins, and commercial performance.Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.Strategic thinker who can also work hands-on when required.Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, building teams.Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders.High attention to detail with strong commercial acumen.Collaborative, solutions-focused, and committed to value creation beyond finance.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will be ideally based in Adelaide (Perth may be considered also).
