Horse Farm Caretaker/Farm hand/Horse Husbandry/Dog Walker - Live-inLooking for a Live-in Equine Farm Caretaker/Property Maintenance/Pasture Maintenance/Horse Husbandry in Numinbah, Queensland, Australia.Full-time live-in position maintaining a 50-acre horse property, caring for the owner''s small herd of horses and pet cows, as well as potential agistees'' horses. Daily property, pasture, and infrastructure maintenance are required.Rent-free, furnished granny flat accommodation is provided for the caretaker (excluding bills). For couples, it''s possible to divide full-time hours, and the caretaker is entitled to free agistment for their own horse.Key ResponsibilitiesPasture management: slashing, whipper snipping, seeding, tillage, weed and pest control, paddock and lawn maintenance, tree trimming, and pruning.Horse husbandry: providing daily care for horses, including feeding, watering, rugging, sunscreen, cleaning feet, grooming, and monitoring horse health.Maintenance of farm infrastructure: fence repairs, cleaning and maintenance of water systems, stables, arena, barn, machinery, and equipment.Machinery operation: efficiently operating various types of machinery for farm operations.Driving to the second property (20 minutes away) for farm tasks and exercising guard dogs.Taking rubbish to the local waste center and organizing/supervising other help like tradespeople.Availability is required 7 days a week for feeding and rugging horses. The position involves 30-40 hours of work weekly (negotiable), with morning and afternoon shifts and flexibility in hours. Weekend work is periodically required, and living on premises is mandatory.About YouExtensive knowledge and experience in general horse care and husbandry.Demonstrated ability to ride.Experience assessing a horse''s level of handling and temperament.Basic experience operating various types of machinery (with the option to learn on the job).Confidence in handling guard dogs (initial assistance/training provided).Physical fitness to cope with the role''s demands.Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.Attention to detail and a high standard of care.Long-term commitment required.Clean, healthy living, and no active addictions.Resident visa only. #J-18808-Ljbffr
