Lead Oncology Pharmacist - Epic Pharmacy, Northern Beaches Hospital Pharmacy Sydney Contract or Temp Epic Pharmacy Key Points Employment Type: 13-months contract, choice of either full or part-time. About the Role Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy, you will lead a dedicated team within our Oncology department, ensuring the delivery of optimum patient-centred care and the highest standard of service. In this leadership role, youll play a key part in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Oncology and Haematology pharmacy services. Youll also provide essential support, mentorship, and training to your team, helping to build capability and foster a culture of clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Motivate, guide and lead the Oncology pharmacy team to provide exceptional healthcare services Actively participate and oversee all daily operational activities in the Oncology Division Conduct clinical medication history reviews, clinical checks of chemotherapy treatment plans & counsel patients Review and assist in developing Oncology + Haematology hospital protocols including implementation on Mosaiq Review off-protocol chemotherapy regimens Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients. Manage Continued Education for Pharmacists working in Oncology Contribute to Continued Education for Nursing staff in Oncology Review and manage Oncology/Haematology related incidents Ensure the business complies with legislation and contractual obligations and continuously improves its clinical and pharmacy services Ensure the business operates profitably and efficiently Participate in the provision of clinical trials Be willing to train in aseptic wound? no; aseptic compounding Manage PBS prescriptions Ensure inventory is managed appropriately Liaise with Oncologists and Haematologists regarding any drug changeover (e.g. brand change) as required by Epic procurement Participate in on-the-job training and development programs Attend Oncology Department Meetings as the Pharmacy representative Manage annual Icon Oncology Pharmacy Quality Audit Other tasks as delegated by Director of Pharmacy About You You are an experienced Oncology Pharmacist, ideally with pharmacy management experience or ready to take the next step into a leadership role. You bring a can-do attitude and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for growth and development. Youre confident in guiding a pharmacy team while maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the hospital. Essential Requirements Permanent Australian working rights. Current AHPRA general registration, with no restrictions on practice. Prior experience in Oncology Pharmacy. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and manage interactions with doctors and multidisciplinary teams. Be performance focused with attention to business KPIs and service levels. Desirable Skills & Experience Proven experience in pharmacy management. About the Site Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed hospital providing care to both public and private patients. The hospital has a 50 bed Emergency Department, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, Renal, Cancer Care, Mental Health and Antimicrobial Stewardship services. The Epic team at Northern Beaches is situated in the foyer of the hospital and has 40 full-time-equivalent staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our team is split between the dispensary and the wards with pharmacists providing a full clinical service to all inpatient wards of the hospital.
