The Shared Services Hub is committed to delivery effective and efficient payroll services in line with Service Level Agreements negotiated with each client agency.Payroll deliveryClient engagementAurion systems administrationHub project management and delivery, including onboarding new client agenciesAssuranceThe opportunityWe are building a merit pool to fill current and future vacancies in Shared Services Hub. Initially roles will be offered as non-ongoing opportunities, with the possibility of converting to ongoing employment.This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation responsible for delivering payroll services to a range of client agencies with over 14,000 payslips processed each fortnight.Our ideal candidateOur ideal candidates will have the following capabilities:Ability to work in a team environment across the Hub.Experience in, or ability learn payroll processing and delivery.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to client in a clear manner.Good customer service skills, including initiative and the ability to foster effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Knowledge of, or ability to learn information management practices and privacy procedures.Sound organisational skills, including energy and drive to achieve results.Resilience with a positive attitude and responsive to changing and competing priorities.Values inclusion and diversity and demonstrates respect for APS Values.What you will doFor vacancies in the Payroll Delivery teams, as a Payroll Officer you will:Process a range of tasks related to the delivery of payroll and conditions of service including commencements, salary variations, calculation of allowances and final entitlements for cessations.Complete payroll transactions and related correspondence in accordance with the fortnightly payroll cycle.Understand an apply relevant APS legislation and terms and conditions including Enterprise Agreement policy and procedures.Provide clear, comprehensive and accurate verbal and/or written advice to stakeholders within appropriate timeframes.Maintain data in the Aurion payroll system and other platforms as required to ensure compliance with the departments records management and privacy policies.Display teamwork and support other payroll officers, including across teams during busy periods.Participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the payroll team processes and practices.EligibilityTo be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.Equal Employment OpportunityThe department is committed to a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion, and supports staff to balance their work and family responsibilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
