Lets make a meaningful difference, together.Your part in our Lifeline teamWe are currently recruiting for the position of Sorter in our Geebung Distribution Center.ResponsibilitiesSort and categorize the large volumes of clothing and Bric a Brac generously donated.Picking and processing orders.Work in a warehouse environment that can get dusty, and can be very cold in winter and very hot in summer.Maintain work stations and storage areas in a clean and tidy manner, in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations, including moving stock and rubbish to allocated areas.Ensure all paperwork relative to your role is recorded accurately on a daily basis.Work harmoniously with volunteers and other employees to promote a positive team environment.Be reliable and able to work within a fast-paced environment while meeting required targets; participate in training; follow directions; and work in a team under limited supervision.Responsible for the quality of their own work.May have to lift up to 20 kg if required.Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all matters relating to staff, customers, procedures and security.Undertake other duties as directed by your supervisor within the scope of the position and abide by all relevant policies, procedures, standards and legislation as they apply to the position.This role involves repetitive tasks such as lifting, carrying, standing and walking for long periods, and applicants must be able and willing to perform all tasks without restriction.Qualifications & SkillsBe passionate about Lifeline and articulate its purpose.Ability to deliver a high level of customer service and exceed expectations.Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the fundamentals of all Store and Distribution roles, including but not limited to customer service and stock control.Ability to communicate effectively.Setting and exceeding priorities to meet daily deadlines; developing plans to meet short-term objectives.What makes a difference for you?Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.Salary packaging to save tax on everyday living expenses and bills (up to $15,900) and meal entertainment (up to $2,650) per annum.A rewards platform with employee discounts and wellbeing programs.A positive, inclusive team based on respect, shared values and commitment to serving others.Eligible employees are entitled to 12 weeks paid parental leave and 2 weeks paid partner leave after 6 months, in addition to the government scheme.Diversity and inclusive leave options for cultural celebrations (paid and unpaid).Career development opportunities to challenge yourself and grow.About UnitingCareWe are leaders in crisis response, the protection of vulnerable children, financial resilience and family wellbeing.
