The Head of Operations will shape and execute the companys operational strategy and support the executive leadership in scaling the business. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who is passionate about building robust operational systems and thrives in fast-paced team.What will you be doing?Develop and execute the operational strategy aligned with company objectives and Australian market requirementsLead strategic planning processes and translate corporate strategy into actionable operational plansMonitor and report on operational performance metrics and KPIs to the Chief Operating OfficerFinancial Management & BudgetingOversee project budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost managementCollaborate with the finance team on End of Financial Year (EOFY) processes, including budget planning, financial reporting, and compliance requirementsManage operational P&L responsibility and drive cost optimization initiativesWork with CFO to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasting modelsTeam Leadership & Human ResourcesLead, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve high performance and engagementDesign and execute hiring strategy, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planningImplement performance management systems and professional development programsFoster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellenceLegal & Compliance ManagementPartner with the legal team on contract negotiations, vendor agreements, and partnership dealsEnsure compliance with Australian regulatory requirements and industry standardsOversee risk management processes and maintain appropriate governance frameworksManage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodiesProcess & Technology OptimizationWork with Managed Service Provider (MSP)Implement and optimize business processes, systems, and workflowsManage technology infrastructure and vendor relationshipsEnsure data security and privacy compliance across all operationsManage workplace health and safety programsWhat Youll NeedEducation & Experience RequirementsBachelor''s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)8-12 years of progressive operations, strategy, or general management experienceMinimum 3-5 years in senior leadership roles with direct P&L responsibilityTechnology industry experience, preferably with scaling organizationsCommunication & Interpersonal SkillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting and stakeholder engagementPresentation and public speaking abilities for team communicationsCross-cultural communication skills for working with global teams and diverse stakeholdersNegotiation and relationship building capabilities with internal teams, clients, and vendorsFinancial & Commercial AcumenP&L management experience with budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysisUnderstanding of Australian financial reporting standards and EOFY requirementsContract negotiation and commercial deal structuring experienceCost optimization and operational efficiency improvement track recordLeadership & Management SkillsProven track record of leading and scaling teams (typically 10+ direct and indirect reports)Strong people management capabilities including coaching, performance management, and talent developmentChange management expertise to drive organizational transformation and process improvementsHow We WorkAt Syenta we celebrate diversity and believe that the greatest products and teams stem from diverse thinking, beliefs, and passions.Our philosophy is that people are the most important part of our business.
