The Store Support Lead is the Store Managers Primary Assistant and is responsible for key administration functions in personnel management & payroll, cash management, stock management, cleanliness, safety and driving sales. The Store Support Lead is part of the management team that sets the tone by embracing and living the Ten Tops values. Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure all customer service assistants make personal contact with customersAchieve store goals as provided by the Operations ManagerLead Front End OperationsTrain staff on our Customer Service valuesEnsure each customer has fast, friendly checkout serviceMaintain store cleanliness, recovery, and readiness for customers at all timesOpen and close store proceduresAssist with Front End Operations and perform SM duties in the manager''s absenceSupervise all team members and assist in training, coaching and development of all AssistantsReview corporate communications and respond accordinglyPartner with Store Manager and/or corporate office regarding store issuesDrive store sales and control expensesAssist payroll processes and ensure payroll is within budgetAssist in merchandising proceduresAdhere to and hold assistants accountable to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Cash handling procedures including preparing and dropping bank depositsAuthorize register functions including post voids, returns and discountsComply with Human Resources policies and proceduresAssist in receiving and stocking procedures, deliveries and invoicing/paperworkCheck off stock to invoiceAssist in driving Key Metrics: Sales, Margin and Expense ControlPerform store maintenance including waste removal, cleaning, and stock room upkeepMaintain a strong culture of safety at all times, including correct use of tools and equipment Essential Job FunctionsFrequently operate computer, printer and cash registerFrequently move merchandise weighing up to 10 kg and to heights of up to 1.5-3 mFrequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and stock merchandiseRegularly use stock trolleys and pallet jacksFrequent kneeling, bending and stooping in stock rooms and on the sales floorCommunicate with customers and staff in person and on the phone, exchanging accurate informationDirect staff to and from the back office and stock room for stock movementsIdentify and execute merchandise layouts, staff schedules, and SOPsRemain upright for extended periods as required Qualification And Work Skill RequirementsRecent relevant work experienceDemonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer serviceAbility to multi-task, direct and manage peopleCreative thinkingAbility to remain composed under pressureSolid numeracy skills Personal AttributesHigh presentation, professionalism, excellent communication skills with an extrovert persona, customer service focus, understanding of retail best practices, enthusiasm to work within a team and enjoyment of connecting with people.
