Employment Type: Casual (38hrs a week, with potential for full-time permanent positions)About the Role:We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Infrastructure Maintenance Officer to join the Roads & Drainage team within local government. This hands-on role involves supporting the maintenance and installation of drainage infrastructure, as well as assisting in the repair and upkeep of roads and footpaths. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and proactive in problem-solving while on site.This is a casual position offering full-time hours, with potential for long-term or permanent employment for the right individual.Key Responsibilities:Assist with excavation, installation, and maintenance of storm water drainage infrastructureSupport the use of drainage-related equipment including suction and combination trucksUnderstand the basic function, design, and layout of stormwater systemsParticipate in safe site setup, clean-up, and correct handling of tools and materialsRoads Maintenance:Carry out general labouring tasks to support road construction and repairsAssist with basic footpath and road maintenance tasksIdentify and report minor road or drainage issues, assisting in their resolution under supervisionRequirements:Minimum MR (Medium Rigid) Drivers Licence with a clean driving recordPrevious experience in drainage, roads, or civil works (highly regarded)Physically fit with the ability to undertake manual labour in varying weather conditionsStrong teamwork skills, reliability, and a positive work ethicCommitment to safety and following site protocolsPre-Employment Checks:National Police Check (required prior to placement)Working With Children Check (to be obtained upon placement) #J-18808-Ljbffr
