For more information, including The Salvation Armys position on Reconciliation, Diversity, and Inclusion, go to: Christmas time, as part of Christmas Cheer, The Salvos distribute hundreds of thousands of gifts and toys, over 64,000 hampers and over 130,000 meals to those who are struggling during the Christmas period, and this cannot happen without the generosity of the Australian public.A key avenue for donations of Christmas gifts is through Kmarts Wishing Tree Appeal, along with other businesses who have done a Christmas gift donation drive in their workplace.Based out of our Raymond Terrace Warehouse, NSW, the Christmas Cheer Driver Assistant assists in the collection of goods from Kmart stores and other businesses in the local area, which are then distributed to various locations around NSW.Key responsibilitiesTransportation: Assist the Driver in providing a professional, safe and reliable collection of goods from local businesses and organisations and deliver to TSA sites.Vehicle care: Assist the Driver in ensuring the vehicle is safe and fully operational by regularly checking tyres, fuel levels and monitoring oil and water levels. Diligently ensure vehicle is checked before each shift and rectify any issues before collecting donations, reporting issues and repairs to the Line Manager.Administration: Assist with filling in the vehicle logbook; ensure an identification badge is worn at all times.Communications: Assist the driver by contacting customers and donors, providing updates on collection/delivery times; assist with communicating to the line manager regarding any concerns that may arise or if regular service is due.Qualifications And Skills (desired/required)Good communication skills desiredCustomer service experience highly regardedCapabilities and personal attributesManage Self: Shows personal motivation and commitment to completing work activities effectively; maintains own motivation when tasks become difficult; regulates own behaviour and responds appropriately in all circumstances.Act Ethically and with Integrity: Acts consistent with TSA vision, mission and values; represents the organisation in an honest, ethical and professional way; is reliable and trustworthy.Show Respect: Responds in culturally appropriate ways.Communicate Effectively: Listens to others when they are speaking and asks appropriate, respectful questions; speaks at the right pace and volume for varied audiences; clarifies own understanding.Lead Safety and Wellbeing: Identifies and follows safe work practices; takes action to address hazards, near misses and incidents.Background check requirementsRequiredBackground checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation.
