Our brand is synonymous with quality, strength, and durability.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Machinist role is primarily to operate our CNC horizontal borer and/or manual line borer machines. We are seeking a confident, self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. As a Machinist, you will have a key focus on safety and the ability to prioritize workload effectively to achieve the highest standards of product delivery and customer satisfaction.The Machinist is responsible for the machining of bores on or within Kerfab manufactured attachments, ensuring that Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards are met. This position requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, set up the machinery, adjust and maintain its functioning, and inspect the finished product for accuracy. Tolerance compliance, finish and alignment are key accountabilities for this role.POSITION DUTIESThe duties of the Machinist will include but are not limited to:Operating a boring machine to bore holes in metal and other materialsSetting up and adjusting machine controlsMonitoring machine operations to detect any problemsTroubleshooting and making adjustments as necessaryPerforming maintenance and cleaning on the machineMeasure and layout parts to be machined.Select and install cutting tools into machine spindles.Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.Monitor and verify quality standards.Perform routine maintenance.Keep records of production and machine useABOUT YOUTo be successful in this role we are looking forAustralian recognized First-Class Machinist OR Fitter Machinist Trade Certificates would be an advantageKnowledge of how to set and use gauges such as calipers, bore micrometers, dial indicators etc.Demonstrated experience in operating horizontal boring machinesDemonstrated experience with safety and risk management tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5sForklift, rigging and dogging licenses are advantageous, or willing to obtain.Basic computer skillsThis is a position with a variety of challenges that is a vital part of our production team and will ideally suit someone who has a heightened sense of attention to detail and possesses good hand-eye coordination. #J-18808-Ljbffr
