About The Role The Vineyard Operator plays a crucial role in the day-to-day vineyard operations at our vineyard site in Whitlands, assisting with machinery operation and hands-on viticulture. Key responsibilities Executing a range of tasks including spraying, pruning, vine training, trellis and irrigation repairs, and general vineyard maintenance Operating machinery and equipment to a high standard and ensuring proper maintenance Monitoring pests and diseases, assisting with frost protection, bird control, and crop estimation Undertaking roles during harvest, which may include night and weekend work Adhering to safety standards, participating in safety activities, and promoting a safe work environment Key Criteria Hold a minimum 1 year of relevant experience in vineyard, agriculture, or horticulture operations Demonstrate a strong understanding of viticultural principles and practices, with the ability to operate machinery and equipment effectively Exhibit flexibility, strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Hold a valid car license Possessing a forklift license, chemical handling and first-aid accreditation would be advantageous Domaine Chandon Australia is proud to celebrate our differences and communities.
