About This OpportunityWe are seeking reliable and committed Associate Animal Technicians to join our casual pool, providing essential care and husbandry for research animals at the Queensland Animal Science Precinct (QASP). This role ensures the welfare of animals while supporting general facility operations, including the use of equipment, chemicals, and other materials. You will contribute to maintenance tasks and the daily functionality of the QASP, working under routine or general supervision. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnimal HusbandryProvide care and welfare for livestock, ensuring clean housing and maintaining biosecurity.Perform record-keeping and assist with research sampling and euthanasia as needed.Operational SupportPrepare facilities, operate machinery, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Support daily operations, including waste management and effective team communication.Research SupportAssist in research projects by performing routine procedures and providing experimental support.Participate in rosters, including weekend/public holiday duties, as required. The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and medical clearance.You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
