With the recent granting of the Vulcan South mining lease anda 16-year mine life ahead, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and areseeking talented individuals to join our journey.The Role:We are seeking suitably experienced and qualified EmergencyServices Officers to join our growing and developing team and mine site.This role reports to the on shift senior emergency officerat the mine site. Joining a team ofqualified volunteer ERT personnel when required to respond to an emergency. Therole also encompasses additional tasks such as training, equipment managementand light vehicle, site access management, and administration support.This is a full time position, with day shift and night shiftrequired, and a competitive remuneration package available for the rightcandidate. We are looking for self-motivated team players who can workeffectively unsupervised and have previous exposure to the mining industry.Roster:The position is offered on an 7/7 roster, rotating day shiftand night shift.Duties will include:Deliver, when required, response, combat, and control foremergency and medical incidents on/off site, including an Emergency Rescue Team(ERT) call out system in place.Work closely and create relationships to on shift teams tosupport all emergency response activities when required.Ensure emergency response equipment, plans and people aremaintained in a state of readiness to respond to an emergency or rescueoperation for all perceived emergency response risks identified.Assist with the development, review and implementation ofHS&T management plans, procedures.Collaborate with the HS&T team to develop the HS&Tcapabilities of staff by providing training and awareness to upskill theworkforce to improve safety performance and meet legal requirements.Assist in the facilitation of emergency response trainingPartake in training and real-life accident/emergencysituations, taking direction from delegated personnel.Maintain induction standards by preparing visitor, shortterm, and delivery driver inductions.Maintain site access and employee registers by control ofboom gates.Ensure that emergency communication systems are tested,operational and consistently monitored.Ensure risks associated with emergency response scenariosand activities are adequately assessed, and effective controls are in place toreduce risk to as low as reasonably practical.Assist in the development for routine ERT skills training,first aid, skills maintenance training and ERT field scenario training for theEmergency Response Team.About the Candidate:Certificate III in Mine Emergency Rescue Response;Demonstrated commitment to safety;Strong communication and interpersonal skills;Current Generic Coal Induction (STD 11);Must be able to pass pre-employment medical including drugand alcohol screening.Our CommitmentVitrinite is committed to providing workplace where peoplebring their whole selves to work.
