You will report to the Regional Director, Highways & Bridges - AUA and work with teams across the country to develop new business, manage client relationships, and grow Hatchs Civil Engineering offering.Hatch is an established firm with extensive experience in mining, energy and infrastructure, and a global footprint of colleagues delivering safe, innovative and sustainable solutions.As an accredited Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (WGEA) and Equal Opportunity Employer, Hatch fosters a diverse, inclusive workplace and flexible arrangements where possible.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support business development and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals.Lead contract negotiations including variations, claims and commercial disputes; ensure fulfilment of contract terms.Provide project direction on multi-discipline projects and monitor output to meet technical standards, budgets, and timeframes in line with Hatchs Business Systems.Develop and maintain client relationships; liaise with other business sector leaders and teams to raise the profile of Hatchs Civil Engineering offering.Mentor and develop technical staff; provide clear vision and leadership to team members.Hire and expand the project team as needed; oversee day-to-day operations including time and expense approvals.Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business sectors to deliver integrated solutions.Essential Qualifications and ExperienceA relevant degree in Civil Engineering.Extensive industry experience as a Civil Engineer recognized by clients at state level, with key milestones involving Transport for New South Wales.Ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision.Understanding of design and analysis of roads, freeways, intersections and drainage.Strong knowledge of Australian Standards in current engineering and construction principles; familiarity with TfNSW standards preferred.Proven track record delivering complex multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget.Desirable Qualifications and SkillsProfessional Engineer registration with Engineers Australia or relevant authority.Experience in business development and maintaining client relations.Effective communication with all levels of staff and clients (written and spoken).Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills in dynamic environments.What We OfferFlexible work environment and long-term career development.Opportunities to work on innovative projects and make a difference with great people.If you dont meet every single requirement, you are encouraged to apply.
