OverviewVolunteer Opportunity School Board Treasurer. Kerry Street Community School is seeking a Treasurer to join our School Board. This is a voluntary position and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your governance skills while helping guide the future of our unique democratic school.About UsKerry Street Community School is a small, vibrant independent school in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia. With over 40 years of history, we are known for our child-centred approach, inclusive community, and strong commitment to sustainability, social justice, and authentic relationships.The Kerry Street Community School Board is responsible for the governance of the school. As a not-for-profit independent school, the Board sets strategic direction, ensures compliance, and oversees financial health and long-term sustainability. The Board is made up of parents and community members working closely with the Principal and staff to ensure the school continues to thrive.The Role of TreasurerAttend two evening Board meetings per termAttend two Finance Sub-Committee meetings per termProvide financial oversight and advice to support Board decision-makingReview financial reports, budgets, and compliance documents prepared by our Business ManagerHelp ensure the schools finances remain transparent, accountable, and aligned with our strategic directionWho You AreExperienced or confident in financial management, accounting, or bookkeepingDetail-oriented, with a commitment to good governanceA collaborative team player who values community-based educationPrior Board or committee experience is welcome but not essentialWhy Join Us?As Treasurer, youll play a key role in shaping the future of Kerry Street Community School.
