To learn more about Aegis Health, visit our website: Health offers a competitive rate of pay and a supportive workplace, with education and training.About the RoleThis role is diverse and essential to patient care, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN).Position ObjectivesEquipment Reprocessing and Sterile SuppliesPerform manual and machine cleaning of instruments, endoscopes, and trays in line with strict infection control standards.Conduct reprocessing of reusable devices as per GENCA and AS/NZS 5369 standards.Assemble, pack, and sterilise instruments, ensuring priority items are returned to the unit promptly.Maintain appropriate stock levels of sterile consumables, rotating stock to manage use-by dates, and reporting low levels to the Nurse Unit Manager.Patient Care & Logistics SupportTransport patients safely on trolleys and beds to and from procedure rooms.Assist with patient positioning and transferring under the supervision of RN/EN staff, strictly adhering to manual handling safety practices.Maintain the dignity, privacy, and comfort of patients at all times.Advocate for patients and families, collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve positive health outcomes.Maintain a clean and safe environment within the unit, strictly following infection prevention and control guidelines.Undertake routine cleaning of equipment, trolleys, and clinical areas.Handle and store food items in accordance with relevant food hygiene regulations.About YouYou will need to hold the following accreditation, skills and working rights:At least 12 months of experience as per perioperative standardsFormal qualification or extensive experience in endoscopy reprocessing or sterilisation services, with strong knowledge of OH&S, manual handling, and hazard management.At least 12 months of experience as per perioperative standardsDemonstrated understanding of infection control principles and reprocessing guidelines.Commitment to continuous improvement, quality assurance, and availability to work across morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday.Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to high-quality customer service.Ability to take initiative, work self-motivated, and effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.Effective time management with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in problem-solving, analytical abilities, and effective communication (written and verbal).Experience in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices.Formal qualification in a health-related field or extensive experience in endoscopy processing or sterilisation services.Pre-employment ValidationsVerification of eligibility to work in Australia.Identification check validation.Working with Children (WWC) check.If you embody these qualities and are excited about the opportunity to be part of the innovative Health Care Team at Aegis Health, we would love to hear from you.Unlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchTo help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory / salary below minimum wage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
