These are hands-on Permanent or Casual positions supporting the young people living in LWB''s residential care homes. You will be working directly with children and young people, supporting the day to day running the house with domestic duties and various activities in line with the young peoples care plans.Experience and understanding of trauma and de-escalating behaviours is required.The program prioritises the safety and well-being of children and young people, offering a predictable, home-like environment that is culturally safe and responsive.Weekdays: 2pm - 8pmKey ResponsibilitiesPromote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case PlansAssist young people to develop independence and build community networksSupport the young persons interestsEstablish a rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomesManage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionallyDomestic duties and supporting the young person to learn how to look after themselves eg cooking, housework, laundryCommunicate with the care team and report incidents promptly and accuratelyMedication administration (when required)Maintenance of progress notes and record keepingSkills & ExperienceMinimum qualification level - Certificate IV in Youth Work, Mental Health, or working towards relevant qualificationExperience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and neglect, including the management of behaviours of concernAbility to demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholdersDemonstrate confidentiality and have strong understanding of professional boundariesExperience working with young people from indigenous or other cultural backgroundsA current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)A current Drivers LicenceAdditionally, experience with behavioural management approaches including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), positive behaviour support, trauma and attachment, Sanctuary or CARE residential models will be highly regardedSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Department of Communities DCP395 Check and WA Working with Children Check.Work for one of Australia''s largest social purpose organisationsGenerous Salary Packaging Benefits claim up to $15,900 per year, tax free!Ongoing development opportunities, including paid CARE and TCI Training24-hour management support with a National After-Hours Service teamHow to ApplyInclude your resume and covering letter in one document, click Apply and follow the prompts.
