About the roleOpportunities exist for Full-Time Pharmacy Technicians: Salary 65k +Super and allowances is on offer.The role of the Pharmacy Technician at Fulham Correctional Centre is to assist, within their scope of practice, with the management of medications. This includes assisting in the preparation for medication administration rounds, administering of prescribed medication, assisting in the management of medication inventory and ordering medication and other pharmaceuticals under supervision.Please note: The role will be on a rotating roster encompassing shift work and weekend work.For more information on this role, including more details regarding the key accountabilities, please click apply to be redirected to the website where you will be able to download the Position Description. Qualifications and ExperienceCertificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician or Community Pharmacy) course or equivalent as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.Assist Clients with Medication course as part of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Health Care (e.g. Nursing Assistant).Successful completion of medication related courses as part of an undergraduate degree in Nursing or Pharmacy.The ideal candidate will haveCompletion of dispensary assistant module is highly desirable.Previous experience as a pharmacy/dispensary technician in a hospital or community environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational and attention to detail skills.Ability to work within teams and collaboratively across teams.Strong computer and information technology skills.Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.Previous experience administering medications.Other Requirements of the roleCompletion of a dispensary assistant module will be highly regardedMedication Administration/Pharmacy TechAbility to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.About GEOFulham Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd (GEO).
