OverviewCoordinate, educate and ensure fire safety compliance across WSLHD hospitals protect people, property and ensure a safe healthcare environment.Employment DetailsEmployment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Fire Safety Officer Level 2Remuneration: $90,772.45 per annumHours Per Week: 38Location: Western Sydney Local Health DistrictExtras: 19-day month, uniform supplied, laptop and mobile phone providedWhat Youll Be DoingAs a Fire Safety Officer, you will support the District Fire Safety Manager to oversee and maintain fire safety systems, coordinate staff training, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and conduct evacuation exercises across all assigned directorates.Oversee fire safety systems and compliance across WSLHDCoordinate fire safety training orientation, awareness and evacuation exercisesConduct audits and inspections to ensure quality and complianceMaintain accurate documentation and liaise with key stakeholdersSupport administrative duties including procurement, reporting and rosteringResponsibilitiesChampion fire safety across a large, complex health districtPlay a critical role in compliance, training and emergency readinessBe part of a high-performing Asset Management Fire Safety TeamEssential CriteriaQualification: Healthcare Fire Safety OfficerSelection CriteriaCompleted a Fire Safety Officer (Health) Accreditation Course, in accordance with NSW Health Department Circular No 2010/24. Experience in the Healthcare Industry.Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (TAE40116) or equivalent, or willingness to attain within 12 months of appointment.A current NSW Drivers Licence.Demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of fire safety requirements.Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Oracle and Rostering systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels of the organisation.Good knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety NSW legislation relating to fire safety in a large public organisation, including incident investigation management and risk management principles.Proven ability to ensure safe work practices within the area of responsibility.How To ApplyApply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed, with examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.Other InformationRequisition ID: REQ607827Applications Close: 26 October 2025Need more information?
