Commencing in January 2026, for a period of two years, we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Surveyor to join Maitland City Council.As a Graduate Surveyor, you will support the delivery of surveying services for the capital works program, property development and planning teams to assist with infrastructure projects, land management, and spatial data collection. You will be mentored and supported to become a candidate surveyor, gaining practical experience towards your professional registration and developing your technical skills through hands-on learning that covers both field and office aspects of the role. You will contribute to the growth and improvement of our local community.About YouTo be successful in this role you will possess:Completion of a bachelors degree in surveying, spatial science, or a related discipline that is a recognised qualification from the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI) within the previous two (2) years or by January 2026.Contemporary industry knowledge of surveying principles, practices and relevant legislation.Experience and understanding of interpreting and calculating technical drawings, maps and spatial data.Current Class C drivers licence.ResponsibilitiesThis is a full-time, temporary role working a 35-hour week. Key responsibilities include supporting surveying services for infrastructure projects, capital works programs, property development, planning teams, land management, and spatial data collection; assisting with the delivery of surveying tasks across field and office environments; and contributing to the candidate pathway toward registration as a licensed land surveyor.BenefitsThis role offers a salary commencing from $70,728.84 per year + 12% super, plus access to Councils staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements and a fitness passport. Council will contribute to BOSSIs annual candidate fee for the successful applicant.
