Overview English & Humanities Teacher Large multi-campus Christian school with 1,900 students attending five campuses across the Latrobe Valley and southeastern Melbourne. 12month fixedterm (0.6 to 1.0 FTE) position with possible Head of Teaching & Learning responsibility at Leongatha campus. Responsibilities Deliver the curriculum consistent with school board guidelines and a Christian worldview perspective. Maintain a learning environment encouraging positive attitudes and challenging, achievable expectations. Effectively assess student performance and provide encouraging, confidencebuilding feedback. Plan and carry out daily activities to fulfil the objectives of the schools educational policies and mission statement. Build relationships with students and parents, establishing a partnering approach to learning. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in education, registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Demonstrated commitment to Chairos Statement of Faith. Experience teaching secondary English and Humanities (desirable). Sound knowledge of teaching from a Christian worldview perspective. Ability to utilise a range of relevant teaching strategies. Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with students and parents.
