About The Opportunity Bowral & District Hospital are seeking experienced Sterilisation Technicians to join their Central Sterilisation Services Department. We have various contracts available including: Permanent part time, 24 hours per week. Temporary full and part time, up until July 2026, with the possibility for extension, and casual employment. Responsibilities Provide clean, sterile, or disinfected items and equipment to stakeholders within Bowral & District Hospital. Preparation of daily operations and sterile stock rotation and control in the operating suite sterile stock room. Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes in a dedicated scope reprocessing room within the perioperative services. Qualifications A Certificate 3 in Sterilisation Services. Availability and capacity to participate in a rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays. Understanding of WHS and infection control principles pertaining to the CSSD environment. Ability to work as part of a team or independently in line with the position description. Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent & Experience working in a Hospital Sterilising Services Department with sound knowledge and understanding of AS 5369: 2023, Infection Prevention and Control and WH&S requirements. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as an integral team member under the guidance of a Staff Supervisor for the process of complex medical devices including Orthopaedic loan equipment. Ability to prioritise and communicate workload to achieve quality and timely process outcomes. Sound communication ability with a high standard of written and verbal skills to ensure effective listening, understanding, and following direction. Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and Public Holidays for the provision of a 7 day service to the Peri-Operative Services Department.
