About The Role We are excited to share an opportunity for permanent full time a Winemaker to join the Vinarchy ANZ Operations team reporting to the Senior Winemaker at our Berri Estates Winery. Our winemaking team are responsible for the delivery of wines of outstanding quality and value across the portfolio, taking on a handson role across all stages of production, from grape intake through to packaging. The position requires strong technical capability, sound judgment, and the ability to manage daytoday winemaking operations in coordination with the Cellar and Laboratory teams, ensuring consistency, compliance, and adherence to Vinarchys quality standards. In addition to technical winemaking responsibilities, the Winemaker is expected to contribute to planning and promote a safe, collaborative, and forwardthinking workplace culture. The role will support compliance with legislation, regulatory frameworks, workplace health and safety requirements, and quality management systems, while actively seeking opportunities to refine processes and drive innovation. Ultimately, our winemaking team balances execution with leadership; building capability, contributing ideas, and ensuring that Vinarchy Wines continues to achieve its vision and remain a place where people are proud to work. Key Responsibilities Include: Winemaking activities from vineyard assessment, grape receival & evaluation, fermentation, tastings, blending, additions, filtrations, and packaging prep of wines within the designated portfolio. Working closely with the Senior Winemaker and Group Winemaker to deliver quality and volume requirements. Ensure juice/wine records are accurate, timely, and compliant, minimising stockholding variances and supporting audit requirements, on time. Take responsibility for juice/wine management, including ullage monitoring, integrity checks, and review of analytical data to maintain wine quality and consistency. Coordinate preparation of wines for packaging, aligning with schedules and release deadlines while maintaining style and quality standards. Verify that wines meet all specifications prior to packaging and liaise with packaging teams to resolve issues efficiently. Contribute proactively to weekly and monthly work planning, providing input on operational priorities and resourcing needs. Translate winemaking plans into clear, actionable instructions for the cellar and laboratory, supporting smooth execution. Identify and elevate potential issues or risks early, with recommendations for resolution. Champion high standards of winery hygiene, safety, and housekeeping, leading by example. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, sustainability, and winemaking quality. Develop positive, professional and productive relationships across Winemaking, Cellar, Laboratory, Packaging, and Viticulture, facilitating clear and timely communication. What Youll Bring: Tertiary qualification in Oenology, Wine Science, or a closely related discipline. Minimum 5 years handson winery and winemaking experience across the full process from vineyard through to packaging. Proven track record in delivering wines of recognised quality and consistency. Competence with Microsoft Office, winery management systems, and digital communication tools. Working knowledge of winery quality systems, compliance requirements, and workplace health and safety standards. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a winemaking team. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive relationships across Winemaking, Viticulture, Laboratory, Cellar, Packaging, and Commercial teams.
