Mechanical Tradesperson or Machinery/Dredge Operator Birdon was founded in 1977 with the acquisition of a Cutter Suction Dredge. Since this time, contract dredging has continued to play an integral part of Birdons services. Our dedicated dredging team is one of the most experienced groups of dredging professionals in Australia and there is an exciting opportunity for mechanical tradesperson or machine operator to join our team. About the role This position will report to the Project Supervisor and be based on Birdons longterm dredging services contract to dredge in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria. This is a handson position that requires close and effective working relationships with other tradespeople. A willingness to learn new skills is also a must! Key Accountabilities Maintenance and repair of Heavy dredging plant & equipment, as well as Dredging activities on the water (including night shift at times) Be trained in dredging/maritime operations (work boat and dredge operation) and receive a commercial boating qualification.
