The primary purpose of the position is to manage Councils hospitality functions based in the Art Gallery Caf with a focus on coordinating and facilitating hospitality training courses and work experience. The Hospitality Manager will oversee all aspects of Councils hospitality functions to ensure they are commercially successful and provide high quality customer service. Key Responsibilities Manage the day to day caf operations including ordering, inventory tracking, and stock rotation and manage budgets Manage and lead the hospitality team including casual staff and work placement students to effectively manage the Art Gallery Training Cafe, to provide a high-quality hospitality offering to visitors and the community. Devise and adjust seasonal menus and product offerings to meet market requirements and develop relationships with local providers to promote the use of local products Provide a high-level of customer service in the delivery of hospitality functions to the community, patrons and students Coordinate, schedule and promote a range of hospitality courses in partnership with training providers, Muswellbrook High School and other schools, TAFE and private businesses Qualifications Certificate of Food Safety Supervisor or willingness to obtain and/ or Certificate II or III in Food Operations (Desirable) Demonstrated at least five years experience operating a caf or hospitality business, including managing budgets and stock handling Demonstrated experience developing and monitoring food safety practices Ability to develop and maintain relationships with training providers and educational institutions Working with Children Check What we offer Temporary full time, 35 hours per week, Term Contract for a period of up to 3 years Salary from $90,634 to $99,649 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation Training courses + professional development 40% discount on yearly Aquatic and Fitness Centre membership for staff and families at local facility (conditions apply) Access to Employee Assistance Program for employees and their immediate family About Muswellbrook Muswellbrook Shire Council is a progressive local government area, located under two hours from Newcastle and Tamworth and three hours from Sydney, in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley.
