You can help them stay on track with their learningwhether its listening to their reading, encouraging them in class, supporting small group activities, or mentoring a student oneonone. If you can lend a listening ear, you can be a mentor! Connecting with someone positive, of any age, can make a real difference to young people. This is your chance to build meaningful relationships and see the direct impact of your time on a students progress. What Youll Be Doing: Spend time with students during school hours in a busy but supportive environment. Help students build their confidence and catch up on schoolwork. Offer guidance, encouragement, and a positive outlook to help them reach their potential. Support students through listening to reading, assisting in the classroom, working with small groups, or mentoring once a week. Commitment Regular more than 6 months Training Youll have access to friendly, easytounderstand training to get started. Ongoing support provided. Time required Short time, big difference! From one hour a week on a day that works for both you and the school, during school terms. A minimum of 1 hour per week on a day and time to suit you and the school. Reimbursement WWCC paid for through Dept. of Education. Requirements National Police Certificate Working with Children Check Were looking for someone who believes in the potential of young people and is willing to share their time, patience, and encouragement. Consistency and reliability are important so you can be there for students when they need it mostbut dont worry, school holidays are fine! No prior experience is neededjust enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine desire to see young people thrive.
