Job Summary Were looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanic to join our dedicated Council team. This is a casual position offering variety, flexibility and the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and wellequipped environment. Positions are available in Coolah and Coonabarabran two vibrant rural towns in the beautiful Warrumbungle region of NSW. Responsibilities Work on a wide range of vehicles and equipment including utes, tractors, graders, garbage trucks and more. Perform troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and fabrication work both in the workshop and on the road. Plan regular maintenance schedules and ensure safe and reliable operation of all mechanical assets. Collaborate with dispatch and supervisor teams to respond to breakdowns and onsite servicing requests. Apply welding, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication skills as required. Support the health and safety requirements of the workplace. Qualifications and Skills Trade Certificate in Automotive or Plant Mechanics. Class HR Drivers Licence. Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard). Experience repairing heavy vehicles and working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. MIG welding experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) in an industrial workshop. Preferred: Authorised Inspection Station Examiners Licence, heavy vehicle fabrication experience and ability to follow plans.
