Built & Natural Environment | Regional WA Position No: 112/2025 Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time Full-time | Temporary Contract 4 yearapprenticeship Level Apprentice | Salary: $37,271 for a first yearjunior apprentice, or $62,119 for a first year adultapprentice, plus superannuation A 9-day fortnight work pattern applies to this role Located at the Councils Operations Centre on Park Road, Mandurah Vacancy 112/2025 The opportunity The City of Mandurah is looking for a first-year apprentice. To be successful you need to be self-motivated, reliable, have a positive attitude and wanting to kick-start your career in the mechanical trade. As an apprentice you will complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Mobile Plant Equipment) (AUR31220) while gaining practical knowledge and skills in heavy duty plant, small plant equipment, diesel and petrol powered vehicles. You will have exposure to a broad range of service repairs and maintenance activities such as engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical, air-conditioning, transmissions, suspensions and small fabrication work associated with the automotive mechanical industry. To be successful in this role, you will need: Successful completion of Year 12 Demonstrated work experience in the trade, and/or pre-apprenticeship Certificate II pathway Mechanical aptitude Genuine interest in the trade Current drivers licence Self-motivated and keen to learn Can-do attitude Ability to problem solve Commitment to safetyAbility to follow instructions Be a confident communicator Good initiative A strong team player Computer skills with the ability to operate MS Office software packages, tablets and mobile devices For more information about the role please refer to the position description.
