Staff Specialist (Medicine) | Launceston General Hospital Date published: Oct 17, 2025, 15:19 PM Location Launceston General Hospital, Launceston Description Launceston General Hospital Department of Medicine is seeking an experienced Geriatrician to work in our Outpatient Clinic on a part time basis. The Department of Health Tasmania oversees hospitals across the state, including: Royal Hobart Hospital Launceston General Hospital Northwest Regional Hospital Mersey Community Hospital Various district hospitals and ambulance services The Department also provides community health, mental health, and primary health care services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites. Employment type Fixed term, part time 15.2 hours per fortnight. A flexible work plan is possible, with telehealth also an option. Commencing as soon as you are able to join the team for a 12-month period. Classification Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging. Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
