Job Title: Autism & SEN Classroom AssistantWe are seeking a dedicated Autism & SEN Classroom Assistant to join a school in St Leonards, providing targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs.About the SchoolThe school is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive. Pupils are supported to achieve academic success while developing confidence, independence, and social skills.About the RoleAs an Autism & SEN Classroom Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and other additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage fully in classroom activities. Your work will contribute directly to pupils learning, personal development, and overall school experience.ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils with autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one or small group basisAssist with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needsImplement behaviour management strategies and support positive social interactionsProvide personal care support where requiredMonitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staffCollaborate with teachers and SENCO to deliver individual learning plansQualifications & SkillsExperience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly autismKnowledge of behaviour management and inclusion strategiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to adapt resources and support to meet diverse learning needsPatience, empathy, and a professional approach to supporting pupilsThis role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils learning and development.
